Look Ma! The Emperor isn't Wearing any Clothes!

In ancient as well as modern times, December has been a time for celebrating. This is mostly due to the fact that winter solstice occurs during this month and is apparently the origins behind the rumor that Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day.

How can people be rushing all about buying gifts for their loved ones, waging their financial balance against how much they’re hoping to get back in return, singing along to the lyrics of Sleigh Bells Are Ringing all in the name of a religious holiday that in truth, isn’t religious in the sense that Christians think it is.

It’s a delusion.

Just like commercial eating plans that claim you can eat everything you want and still lose weight is a delusion.

Watching Fox Five News before going to bed and thinking you know all you need to know about current events is a delusion.

Watching any news format show on TV or cable, except for NewsHour Jim Lehrer or whenever Bob Schieffer is on the air is a delusion.

When George Bush told this country that we needed to go to war with Iraq it was a delusion.

When George Bush declared to this country ‘mission accomplished.’ It was a delusion.

Believing anything that comes out of our president’s mouth, except for coughing up phlegm once in awhile, is a delusion.

All of his military generals have cut and run. Why are we, the American People, simply going about our business as if nothing is wrong. Only 12% of our people trust he is on the right course. The man behind the curtain is not the Wizard of Oz. He is nothing more than a man who appears to be mentally delusional and is in need of professional help. But if 300 million Americans continue to act like the three monkeys and do nothing, say nothing and hear nothing, then this country is no better than Nazi Germany was in the thirties.

Where I ask is our spiritual
humanity during this ‘Holiday Season?’
